The kind of preschool we are
Small and family-like — just two groups (Travellers and Explorers) and 44 places. We know every child by name, what they enjoy, what worries them and what they are good at. No child gets lost in the crowd: a teacher has time to talk over breakfast and to tell you at pick-up how the day went. We have been running since 2009 — many of our former children now bring along younger siblings.
Staff and specialists
Each group is led by a qualified early-years teacher supported by an assistant. A speech therapist, psychologist and special-needs teacher work at the preschool itself — not on monthly visits — and also run social skills training. Additional classes are taught by instructors in English, Spanish, yoga, dance, coding and sport. The team trains regularly, and the director, Sylwia Smagalska, is at the preschool every day.
Talking with parents
We treat parents as partners: no surprises and no hidden fees. The LiveKid app gives you up-to-date announcements, menus, the daily schedule and photos from activities, and you can reach a teacher or the management with one tap. There are also shared events: family picnics, seasonal workshops and celebrations, to which parents are always invited.
The child’s wellbeing comes first.
We create a place where children feel safe, valued and noticed — like at home, but with a rich educational programme. The joining fee is 0 zł, because we believe the first step towards good cooperation is trust, not an invoice.
Learning through play, experience and relationships
Our programme follows the Polish national curriculum (MEN), enriched with STEAM methods and sensory play. We support development in four areas:

We accept children with a statement of special educational needs
If your child holds a statement of the need for special education, at Wioska Przyjaciół we arrange special education in line with the recommendations set out in that statement. We want every child to feel safe here and to receive support matched to their needs.
Special-needs teacher
Provides support to a child with a statement and helps carry out the recommendations it contains.
Psychologist
Supports the child’s emotional and social development and offers help to parents.
Speech therapist
Provides support with the child’s speech and communication development.

The history of the preschool
Back in 2009 we started with a dream of a preschool where every child is treated as someone special.
Wioska Smerfów opens at ul. Gdyńska 13 in Rumia — a small, family-run place.
Our own song in the „Rumia oczami Dzieci" project; awards in the „Wiosna w oczach dzieci" competition.
A Dziennik Bałtycki poll, Rumia category. The gala was held at the Old Town Hall in Gdańsk.
The 11th MDK Rumia competition — a diploma of recognition; an ongoing partnership with MDK.
Together with the City of Rumia the children planted a tree — and came back to water it.
The same team and the same values — a new, more open identity.
